Banner Image of Credit Card for Article titled The Order Process and Order Statuses Explained

A typical rental order is different from a normal sales and purchase order. The difference is that any Item received by the Renter, will have to be eventually returned back to the Owner at the end of the rental period.

This Article will act as a walkthrough guide on each step of the rental order as well as the associated Order Statuses. The Order Status will appear the same for both Renter and Owner alike for the duration of the rental order.

You can find out more on how the shipping process works by reading the related article here.

1. Checkout

The Order Process starts from checkout, the moment a Renter has agreed to the Rental Agreement and has initiated the payment screen. From this, a new unique Order ID will be created.

The Order ID is a unique code distinct to your Order and will be used as a reference for that particular order. It will also be used to identify any problems that a user may encounter along the Order Process.

2. Pending Payment

A new order will be created when the Renter has proceeded to the payment screen. This will create a new order status, ‘Pending Payment’.

The Order will remain in this status until payment has been completed. As a Renter, payment can be completed at any time by clicking on the Order via the Order Management page.

Likewise the Owner can view their own orders via their Order Management page.

3. Order Confirmed

After payment is completed and acknowledged, the Order Status will then change to ‘Order Confirmed’. This will cause the order to be official and bounded between both users.

After this Order Status is achieved, the Owner will then be notified to proceed with the shipping of the Item. The Item will also be in the ‘Rented’ status which will cause the Item Listing to be invisible to the public until the Order is duly Completed.

4. Owner to Ship

Once the Order is Confirmed, the Owner will proceed to arrange shipping for the item. The order status will change to ‘Owner to Ship’ when the Owner has paid shipping of the Item. This is the initial delivery and is separate from the one the Renter bought.

After the Owner has paid for the shipping via the order page, an Air Waybill (AWB) will be ready to be printed out when checking the order page.

For more info on this, read our Shipping Process Article for more guidance on the matter.

5. Owner Shipped

Once the Owner has packaged the parcel, they will then send it to their chosen courier collection point.
The ‘Owner Shipped’ order status will appear after the chosen courier office has acknowledged they have received the Item and will proceed with the shipping of the Item.

A tracker ID can be found via the Order Management page to track the Item which can be accessed by both Owner and Renter.
A ‘dispute’ action can also be made here if there are shipping problems that have been found. This will enable the YORenters Team to investigate the matter further if any issues arise.

6. Renter Received

The order status will then change from ‘Owner Shipped’ to ‘Renter Received’ when the shipping courier has confirmed the delivery of the Item. No acknowledgement will be needed by the Renter’s side.
From this date, the official rental period will have started and will last the number of days chosen by the Renter.

9. Owner Received

The order status will then change from ‘Renter Shipped’ to ‘Owner Received’ when the shipping courier has confirmed the delivery of the Item. Likewise the same as the Renter’s side previously, the Owner will not need to acknowledge the confirmed delivery of the Item

After which, the Owner will then proceed to check the Items’ condition and status and may proceed to officially end the order by clicking on the ’Complete Order’ button in the Order Management page.

The Owner can now confirm (with no disputes) the Order has been completed via the Order Management Page and will then await the transfer of their rental earnings.
If the Owner has not chosen any action within 10 days, then the Order will be automatically Completed.
Any withheld Security Deposit for the Item will be released for the Renter to freely use for their next rental order.
And now within 2 weeks after the Order has been Completed, both users will be able to submit a Rating and Review based on rental order experienced for the Item and the respective user.

11. Dispute

Along the course of the rental and in almost every order status, a ‘dispute’ option will be available for both users to open an enquiry on any problem they might face.

Following the rules of the Rental Agreement, opening a dispute will open an enquiry and with the aid of any supporting evidence, will be expedited to reach a quick resolution.
A YORenters helpline representative will then promptly contact you to further examine the issue. It is recommended to give as much detail as possible and provide any media proof when needed.
